Privacy notice

This notice explains what ShadowTrace Solution Private Limited ("we") processes when you use pcparthunt.com. It is written to meet the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Rules that apply to websites in India.
The short version
- You do not need an account. We do not ask for your name, email address or phone number.
- We set no cookies and use no advertising or tracking identifiers.
- The only personal data processed is your IP address and browser details, which every web server receives. We do not sell it or share it for advertising.
What is processed when you visit
Server logs
Like every website, the servers that deliver this site receive your IP address, the page you asked for, the time, and the browser and device type your browser reports. Our hosting provider and content delivery network record these in access logs to keep the service running and to stop abuse. We do not copy these logs into our own systems, we do not combine them with anything else, and we do not use them to identify visitors. They are kept for the periods set by those providers and then deleted by them.
Request limits
To stop automated abuse of search, images and store links, the site counts requests per IP address. The count is held in the server's memory, is never written to disk, and is discarded within a few minutes of your last request.
What stays on your device
Three things are saved in your browser's local storage so the site is easier to use: your recent searches, the parts you ticked to compare, and whether you prefer the list or the grid view. They are never sent to us. They stay until you clear them with the Clear buttons on the site or clear your browser's site data.
Page counts
We do not run an analytics script on this site today. If we add page counting, it will be a kind that uses no cookies and stores no personal data, and we will describe it here before it is switched on.
When you go to a store
Store links on this site are affiliate links. When you follow one, the store's address includes a code that tells the store the visit came from PC Part Hunt. It does not contain anything about you. From that point you are on the store's site, and the store's own privacy policy applies to what you do there. We do not receive your name, address, payment details or order contents from any store.
Why we process this and on what basis
The server logs and request limits are needed to deliver the pages you ask for and to keep the site secure. We have no other purpose for them. We do not process personal data for advertising, profiling or automated decisions about you.
Children
The site is a price comparison service and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly process a child's personal data, we do not track anyone, and we show no targeted advertising.
Your rights
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you have the right to ask what personal data of yours we process, to have it corrected or completed, to have us erase it, to withdraw a consent you gave, to have a grievance heard, and to nominate another person to exercise these rights if you die or become unable to. Because we keep no account, profile or stored record about you, in most cases there will be nothing to correct or erase, but we will answer every request.
To use any of these rights, write to the grievance officer below. Tell us what you are asking for and how to reply to you. We use what you send only to deal with your request and delete the correspondence one year after it is closed.

We acknowledge a complaint within 48 hours and aim to resolve it within 15 days. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

If what we process changes, we will update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect.
